Northern Lights Guiding Experiences
Two New Northern Lights Adventures Coming Soon
Exciting new guided Northern Lights experiences are coming soon to Keen on Photography by Andy Keen.
For more than sixteen years I’ve been fortunate enough to guide thousands of people beneath some of the darkest skies in Europe, helping them experience and photograph one of nature’s greatest spectacles — the Northern Lights.
Now I’m delighted to announce that two brand-new Northern Lights guiding experiences are currently in development, with exciting new adventures planned for both Swedish Lapland and Northern Norway.
These new trips will sit alongside my existing Great Aurora Hunt expedition, giving photographers, nature lovers and adventurous travellers even more opportunities to discover the Arctic with small groups, expert guidance and a genuine passion for the night sky.
Swedish Lapland
Swedish Lapland has become one of my favourite places anywhere in the world to search for the aurora.
The region offers vast frozen lakes, snow-covered forests, peaceful wilderness and exceptionally dark skies, creating superb conditions for both aurora viewing and photography.
The new Swedish Lapland experience is being designed to make the most of these incredible landscapes, with flexible itineraries based on real-time weather forecasts and aurora activity rather than fixed locations.
Whether you’re seeing the Northern Lights for the very first time or looking to improve your photography, this promises to be an unforgettable Arctic adventure.
Northern Norway
I’m equally excited to be developing a brand-new experience in Northern Norway, home to some of Europe’s most dramatic Arctic scenery.
Towering mountains, spectacular fjords, picturesque fishing villages and rugged coastlines provide a stunning backdrop for the Northern Lights, creating opportunities for truly memorable nights beneath the stars.
As with all my expeditions, the emphasis will be on flexibility, small groups and travelling to wherever conditions offer the greatest chance of success.
Built Around the Aurora
One thing that won’t change is my approach.
Rather than visiting the same location every evening, every outing will be planned using detailed weather forecasting, cloud analysis and real-time space weather data to maximise the chances of witnessing the aurora.
After more than 10,000 hours beneath Arctic skies, I’ve learnt that flexibility is often the key to success, and that’s exactly how these new experiences are being designed.
Perfect for Photographers… and Everyone Else
Photography has always been at the heart of what I do, but these new experiences won’t just be for photographers.
Whether you arrive with a professional camera, a beginner’s DSLR, or simply want to enjoy one of nature’s greatest spectacles with your own eyes, you’ll be very welcome.
For those interested in photography, I’ll provide guidance throughout the trip, including:
- Camera settings for the Northern Lights
- Composition and landscape photography
- Working in Arctic conditions
- Photographing the aurora with confidence
- Making the most of changing weather and sky conditions
No previous experience will be necessary.
More Information Coming Soon
The itineraries, accommodation options and launch dates are currently being finalised, and I’ll be sharing much more information over the coming months.
If you’ve always dreamed of standing beneath the dancing Northern Lights surrounded by pristine Arctic wilderness, I think you’re going to love what’s coming next.
These new experiences represent an exciting new chapter for Keen on Photography by Andy Keen, and I can’t wait to welcome you beneath the Arctic sky.
Watch this space… the adventure is only just beginning. 🌌
